The Festival of Lights: Precisely Picturesque

Diwali is known as the festival of lights because people light up their homes with clay lamps known as "Diyas" and also hang a row of lanterns from their ceilings all of this to mark the end of evil and the triumph of good over bad. There are several mythological stories associated with Diwali, one being that people lit Diya's to welcome Rama after he returned from his exile of 14 long years. Now people burst firecrackers and light up their houses and also make "Rangolis" just outside their houses. Every person goes and spends time with their family and close relatives. Some people even prepare sweets which they then distribute among their loved one's. I hate the pollution but I love this Festival!
So here I am writing and blogging about this very festival the way I see it.
Happy Viewing!
